BrainsWay Deep TMS treatment has been proven safe and effective, and has no known systemic side effects, as seen with medications.. The most common side effect is temporary, mild pain or discomfort in the area of the treatment site, which occurs during the treatment session. This typically occurs only during the first week of TMS treatment. Other side effects may include muscle twitching and jaw pain.
ECT and Deep TMS are vastly different. While ECT induces seizures BrainsWay Deep TMS therapy is focused to stimulates brain regions using brief magnetic pulses at an amplitude similar to that used in MRI systems. ECT requires anesthesia and the treatment can result in severe side effects, including memory loss, while BrainsWay Deep TMS therapy does not involve anesthesia, has no effects on memory, and is generally well-tolerated.
Over 1 million TMS treatments have been delivered in the US with a high rate of success. In our center we see almost 3 out of 4 patients have significant improvement, with over 50% reaching remission. This success in a group of patients who are not responding with multiple medication trials is one reason why most healthcare insurers cover TMS therapy.

"TMS has given me back my life as I knew it 25 years ago. After the 4th TMS treatment, I began to feel much better. I'm free of the drugs that could only help in a limited way and provided many unpleasant side effects. My natural energy has returned, my optimistic attitude and happy demeanor are again in place to enhance all parts of my life. I would highly recommend TMS Therapy to all patients who fall within the guidelines."
